DevilDarts
DevilDarts is a dart game with a fiendish twist. You must battle your way through six of the best darn dart players in damnation. This game was released for the PocketPC platform and is no longer supported on the most current versions of Windows mobile platform. This site is for information (and nostalgia)
History
DevilDarts was originally conceived in 1996 and released as a shareware game for the Macintosh in 1997. That version is still available for download on various web sites although I have not tried to play it since OS 8.
I noticed a void in dart games on the PocketPC and it seemed liked a perfect platform to create a new version. The throwing interface and graphics were completely revamped. The excellent computer player portraits featured on this web site and in the game were created by an artist named Scott MacDonald. John Horacek, another artist/graphic designer, graciously jumped in at the last minute to create the side view drawings of Scotts pictures (also seen on the website).
The game will likely not run on the latest Windows Mobile platform due to incompatibilities with the underlying graphics library. In the years since its release, I have stopped developing Windows software and have been primarily working on Web Development, Flash and MacOS. Perhaps an iPhone version or Flash version might surface sometime in the distant future but for now, too many projects and not much motivation :)
